[Infographic] Earth Day tally: nearly 4 tons of e-waste and counting!

On April 20, Integrated Building Systems hosted its 6th annual Earth Day Electronics Recycling Drive to help the Columbus community keep e-waste from polluting our landfills.

Technology enhances our lives in many ways, but it can also harm us if we don't responsibly recycle old equipment. Experts estimate that nearly half of the material in U.S. landfills is recyclable, including electronic waste that can leach toxic chemicals into water sources and surrounding land.

The results are in!

Thanks to nearly 250 people who dropped off electronics and paper, we helped keep our landfills cleaner! We collected nearly 4 tons of electronics and 1.5 tons of paper. See the infographic below for more details.

This impact was made possible by our environmentally-responsible event partners Community Computer Alliance, who provided e-waste recycling, and Royal Document Destruction, who offered paper shredding.
