In 2020, Grandview Heights Schools in Columbus, Ohio, broke ground on a new facilities project designed to provide open, collaborative spaces that inspire both students and the community.

The project was split into two phases: a new middle-school building, which opened in August 2021, and major renovations at the current high school, set to be complete in 2022.

Grandview Heights chose Integrated Building Systems as their partner for technology design, planning, and integration. By working with the district’s IT director and the project’s design team, Integrated Building Systems ensured the district achieved the functionality they desired for the new learning environments and maximized their investment in new technology solutions.

Integrated Building Systems designed and installed:

Audio-visual systems:

  • Classrooms and collaborative spaces are equipped with digital displays, wireless and wired video inputs, and wall mounted button panels. Each classroom and meeting room has a combined audio system for local presentations as well as announcements and bells.

  • The gymnasium has its own audio system with wireless and wired microphones as well as audio inputs for use during games and events. This audio system also connects to the central paging system for bells and announcements during school hours.

  • Additional features throughout the buildings include soundbars, wireless microphones accessibility, and ceiling and wall mounted speakers in larger multi-purpose areas.

    Paging System:

  • With a unified audio system, each office will be able to select and page individual rooms, using panel speakers that blend seamlessly into the classroom ceilings and soundbars in the meeting spaces.
