Pepper Construction

new headquarters thrives on integrated tech solutions

When Pepper Construction of Ohio decided to build new offices, the contractor became the client. Pepper quickly engaged an expert team and followed their own proven design-and-planning processes to achieve the right solution.

Five guiding principles drove decisions for the new space, which was more than a year in planning:

  1. Flexible works areas that are poised for expansion

  2. Innovation and cutting-edge technology on the project and in the office

  3. Quiet space for work and privacy

  4. Showcase display of what they do and how well they do it

  5. Collaboration and open communication with teams and peers

Totaling about 18,000 square feet, with 14,500 square feet of office space and 3,000 square feet of warehouse, Pepper’s new offices will be the first WELL certified project in Dublin, Ohio, focused on the health and well-being of employees.

“Relocating our Dublin office meant that we would have the opportunity to invest in our company's future,” said Paul Francois, President of Pepper Construction of Ohio. “During the planning and design stage, we knew we wanted to move to an open office concept, to promote flexibility and collaboration. However, we also needed to think about how technology would play a role in our new space.  Having worked with Integrated Building Systems on previous projects, we were aware of their capabilities and decided to engage them early in the process; a decision that proved to be beneficial!”

The center of the space includes a large multi-purpose room adjacent to a new café. This area will be utilized for training and all company meetings. The office was outfitted with state-of-the-art technology, keeping Pepper at the forefront of innovation.

“Pepper's key technology users met with Chip and his team at their Tech Studios, which are equipped with all the state-of the art equipment that we were considering for our new office.  This was where we saw first-hand how IBS makes buildings smarter,” Paul reflected. “From meeting room schedulers to BrightSign marketing display systems to sound masking, we were able to customize our technology needs for today and in the future. One recent visitor said, ‘This is the most technologically advanced office that I have ever seen.’  That quote says it all and thanks to the IBS team, we agree!”
