Meet Project Manager Ryan Baer

Say hello to Ryan!

Mental health and self-care advocate, writer, communicator.

Say hello to Ryan Baer, Project Manager at Integrated Building Systems. Ryan ensures projects are delivered on time and on budget. He leads coordination with our team, clients, and other partners, from architects to GCs.

His workday can consist of being in the office or out in the field. Ryan explained, “Every day I at least check email and see if there are any questions for me. But then I could be in the office working on prints or plans, out in the field checking on progress, or even driving a service van out to deliver supplies to a site.”

WHY INTEGRATED BUILDING SYSTEMS?

When asked what he enjoys most about working at Integrated Building Systems, Ryan said, “the people, the challenge, and the sense of accountability. Not only are there goals, there’s a plan to reach them. We are constantly asking, ‘is [the plan] being executed?’”

The structure of EOS (the Entrepreneurial Operating System) is the framework for the company’s short and long-term goals. Every week, teams have L10 meetings to review progress and tackle any challenges together.

The culture of collaboration fostered by EOS is why Ryan uses the words, “progress, teamwork, and execution” to describe the company.

“I admire all people, I always strive to see the best side of people. I want to help people improve their lives however I can”

PASSION PROJECT

Outside of work, you can find Ryan promoting health and wellness. His passion project includes a blog and social media presence, and it is soon to expand to a podcast and YouTube channel. His writing and other content is focused on self-care, mental health, and early childhood development.

“I would describe myself as pro-health. How you’re taught in your childhood to take care of yourself is so important later on in life. If you don’t have those skills, you may need to reflect on how the daily grind is impacting your wellbeing. My passion project aims to spread awareness of mental health issues and the importance of self-care, balance, and just working to try to get better,” Ryan explained.

CARING FOR OTHERS

“I admire all people, I always strive to see the best side of people. I want to help people improve their lives however I can,” Ryan said.

Ryan’s care for others is evidenced through his passion project, both in the content he shares and the emphasis on accessibility. His Aunt Sandy, who is deaf, provides ASL interpretation for his YouTube videos.

He also can be found assisting the deaf at Bible study. He explained, “I practice ASL whenever I have time, especially when I’m waiting in line for something. I want to communicate better to help as many people as I can.”
